Currently living in Bettendorf, Iowa with my husband, Dave, and my daughter, Mackenzie. My husband and I have three successful daughters: Acacia, Robin, and Mackenzie. We are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren. We have been proud to have called the Quad-Cities home since 1980. Eight years ago, we moved from the West Davenport Area to our current residence in Bettendorf.

I was born in Chicago and my family moved to Creston, Iowa, where I attended Southwestern Community College. Dave and I met on the Southwestern campus and were married in 1974. I went on to attend Westmar College until Dave graduated in 1976; I left to begin a career in education.

In 1988, I began working, as a para-educator, with the Davenport Community Schools. For a time, I worked in the library and later as the secretary in the Media Center at North High School. Currently, I am the attendance secretary for Williams Intermediate School, located in Davenport.

I have also served as my union’s president and vice president, a contract negotiator, and a grievance chair. I have also served on many committees in the district, including the superintendent search committee. In addition to serving on the state Minority Action Committee, which is an organization that brings all minority youth together in the autumn to perform artistic activities.
